Alicia & Derek | St Damien's Catholic Wedding Edmond, Oklahoma

Alicia and Derek got married at St. Damien’s Catholic Church in Edmond on a brisk winter’s afternoon. We had so enjoyed getting to know Alicia and Derek at their engagement session and had long looked forward to the day! Their fun, genuine personalities were so refreshing, and it isn’t hard to see the “I’ve found the one” look in their eyes when they are together! Alicia was organized as anyone could be, and we had lists for everything we could need! Their ceremony was delivered mostly in the traditional Latin. It was our first Catholic wedding! Derek won some brownie points when a sleek black limo showed up to deliver the two of them to the reception, and when we got to the Tour 18 at Rose Creek the party got started! It was so fun to see so many young kiddos on the dance floor! Unfortunately the sunset was obscured by clouds over our time to capture sunset photos, but we made the most of it by capturing some more portraits using our flashes outside the clubhouse.

Alicia first found us when her sister in law, also a photographer, recommended us, knowing that we had also gone through Amy & Jordan’s online photography courses (Amy & Jordan, you have changed our business and so many others!). That same sister in law can gain some credit for starting the whole relationship - the newlyweds had briefly met, but got to know each other better when Alicia accepted her invite to wait out the pandemic on their 75 acre ranch. Derek had also moved back home from Dallas, and by the time Alicia left… he knew he wanted her back! Their love story was so sweet and most certainly guided by God’s hand.

We were so glad it worked out and that we were able to serve Alicia and Derek on their beautiful wedding day! We wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter!
