Katie & Lincoln | Mt. Scott Sunrise Engagement Session

The sunrise-lit engagement session at the Wichita Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, Oklahoma was extra special for two reasons.  One, it was at the Refuge - Mt. Scott, in particular, offers such stunning backdrops to the already picturesque opportunities of two young people in love.

Two, because that young couple was Janae’s brother, Lincoln, and his fiancée, Katie. Ironically, Katie and Blaine’s families have been friends for much longer than either one of them have known Lincoln and Janae!

Lincoln made the trip from North Dakota to visit Katie in Missouri and we were so glad that they travelled the extra distance to be able to visit us and take their engagement session to the Refuge! It is such a blessing to be able to capture the sweet love of all of our clients, but we have to admit that working with two people who have been a part of both of our lives for so long in such a special way is an even more wonderful thing.

We got up at 3:30am in order to arrive at Mt. Scott just as light and color was blooming over the distant horizon. Katie and Lincoln were troopers to go with our crazy plan, but in the end, it was so worth it! After the immediate sunrise, we ate a quick breakfast of homemade scones and quiche made by Janae, still enjoying the views from the mountain; afterward, we scouted our several more locations to give some more variety to their session.

Katie and Lincoln, we are so proud of both of you and can’t wait to be with you on December 5th (and far beyond 😉) to see you finally be united! We can remember how difficult the distance was, waiting to be together always after the wedding... but your day is coming so quickly now! It’ll all be so worth it!

We wish you blessings and happiness in your last month and a half of single life!
